It is possible to greatly improve the quality of your food by sending it healing intentions and love. I believe the understanding of this fact may be the origin of the tradition of blessing food. The state of the energy of the kitchen as well as that of the cook all have an effect of the quality of the food, how long it lasts, how it tastes, how it looks and generally how it turns out. Remember hearing your grandmother say the secret ingredient that made her food taste so good was love? That sounds very sentimental, but loving intentions actually do change the way food tastes. And while I know of no scientific studies, I think it may be safe to assume that healing and loving intentions improve the nutritional value as well.
Whatever emotions you carry into a food preparing situation will carry into the food in the same way that they would carry over into another person or animal. So if you carry clear, loving, healthy energy, that is the energy the molecules of your food will vibrate with. The same if you are carrying angry or other negative energy. The molecules will be affected by this and change accordingly. You will notice that when you cook with negative energy, your food doesn’t turn out as well. It taste bad and baked goods don’t rise, for example.
The first place to start when sending healing energy to your food is always with yourself. Clear your own energy by making sure you are well centered and grounded. Send healing energy and loving intentions through your field, checking in with yourself to see how you are feeling physically, mentally and emotionally. Do a short scan of your body and aura while letting the energy flow. If you see that you are feeling any negative emotions, such as anger, tension, hurry or worry, allow a couple of minutes for the healing energy to help them dissipate before working with food. Do this before and after shopping, gardening, or cooking–any activity involving food.
In the same way, do a short sweep of the energy of your kitchen. Send loving energy out, boosting it with any symbols you may feel led to use at the time. This needn’t be complicated. Just a simple burst of loving, healing intention from the heart center is often plenty, particularly right after doing the clearing of your own energy. Send love to the food in the cabinets, the refrigerator, on the counters and shelves, as well as the kitchen that holds them all. Thank the appliances for serving their function in keeping the food fresh and in helping you prepare it.
Next, gather the ingredients you will be working with to prepare your meal or snack. Take a moment to send healing blessings and love to all of it, using the symbols, if you feel led, particularly CKR. I like to send this healing blessing in all directions of space and time, for all food past, present and future, and all who consume it, past, present and future. Use HSZSN for this, if you feel led. It is perfectly OK if you don’t remember to gather all of your ingredients at once in this step! You, your food and your whole kitchen have been receiving healing blessings this whole time and will continue to do so. Set the intention now that you will be a beacon of love as you cook, noticing the lovely colors, smells, tastes, textures and complexities your food has to offer with gratitude.
After your food is prepared, when you sit down to eat, again take a moment to offer gratitude and healing blessings. Place your feet on the floor, if you can, and feel the energy of the Earth ground you to the place where all our food ultimately comes from. Imagine the cord of energy running through you that is your life force, about to be nourished and strengthened by this food. Thank all the forces that contributed to the creation of this food–the soil, the sun, the air, the rain, the animals, the insects, the birds, those people who helped nurture the food as it grew, those that brought it to your home, those that cooked it, all life. Imagine the molecules of the food infused with loving and healing energy and then see this healing energy coming into your own body and the bodies of those at your table and infusing the molecules therein with healing and loving energy. Honor the healing power that your food has to give you. Use CKR and HSZSN, if you are led.
I highly recommend sending healing energy to your food when you bring it home from the store or the garden, as well. You will find that it stays fresh longer and tastes much better!
